Netflix Adds New Dr. Seuss Show Ahead of Big Screen Remake Release

On September 8th, Netflix debuted its new preschool show, Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish, as part of the streamer’s September 2025 lineup. The animated series is based on the author’s 1960 book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, one of Seuss’ best-selling stories, and the adventures of an odd couple of two fish friends as they explore an undersea world and introduce opposite concepts. The voice cast includes Brian Drummond (Red), Andrea Libman (Blue), and Naomi Tan (narrator). All five episodes of the series are now streaming on Netflix.

Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish Is One of Several Dr. Seuss Adaptations Coming to Netflix

Netflix is diving into the wonderful, fantastical world of Dr. Seuss this fall, and Red Fish, Blue Fish is just the start. From September through October, the streamer is releasing two new shows and a special based on the beloved author’s characters and works as part of Netflix’s upcoming “World of Dr. Seuss.” The titles will join another existing Dr. Seuss title already available in Netflix’s streaming library, Green Eggs and Ham, a two-season animated comedy adventure based on the 1960 book of the same name.

Next on the list is Dr. Seuss’s Horton!, an animated series based on the beloved elephant Horton, a character that has appeared in several of Seuss’s titles and has collectively sold nearly 8 million copies. The show is set to debut on October 6th and will follow Horton and his best friend Samson as they go on adventures to help the citizens of the Jungle of Nool. Then on November 3rd, the 45-minute special Dr. Seuss’s The Sneetches will premiere. The special tells the story of a Star-Belly Sneetch and a Moon-Belly Sneetch who meet and realize, “Sneetches are Sneetches, and no one kind of Sneetch is the best on the beaches.”

Where To Stream Other Dr. Seuss Adaptations?

Many of Seuss’ books have received the Hollywood treatment, but streaming them will involve some streaming service hopping. Fans of 2008’s Horton Hears a Who can stream the movie on Hulu with a Live TV subscription. The 2012 movie The Lorax is currently streaming on Peacock. Meanwhile, other adaptions, including 2000’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas and 2003’s The Cat in the Hat, are only available to rent or buy currently.
