It was then confirmed by members of the staff on social media that their work on The Great North had come to an end, and further revealed by Fox that the animated series had indeed been cancelled after five strong seasons with the network. The Great North series co-creator Wendy Molyneux had also surprisingly shared a message to fans after the final episode aired on Instagram, and bid goodbye to the canceled series with hopes for the future, “You never know! Animation never dies!”

And it still exists!,” Molyneux shared with a special message on Instagram following the end of The Great North. “And probably more importantly, if you are a line producer, exec, or showrunner and you are hiring, hit us up for staff in all categories. Some great professionals we worked with for years and can vouch for,” the creator continued.
