If youโre terrified of creepy crawlies, particularly spiders, then you may want to pass on Arachnophobia on Tubi. Frank Marshallโs 1990 creature feature starring Jeff Daniels and John Goodman started streaming on Foxโs free streaming service on October 1st. Despite being tagged as a horror comedy, Arachnophobia isnโt for the faint of heart. The movie centers around a rural California town invaded by a deadly spider species, leaving the townโs residents, including arachnophobe Dr. Ross Jennings and exterminator Delbert McClintock, to fight the infestation before itโs too late.
Arachnophobia Is Easily one Of The Best Monsters Movies of the 1990s
Arachnophobia works incredibly well as a monster movie because, unlike far-off monsters like the Xenomorph from Alien or the giant ape in King Kong, the movie heightens a common, grounded fear of creepy crawlies lurking out of sight in the everyday, safe setting of a family home. In Arachnophobia, spiders lurk in all of the place youโd expect โ inside a slipper, the shower, on a bedroom wall โ meaning no place is safe. Regardless of how wild Arachnophobia gets and how bizarre and memorable the kills become, the movie succeeds in creating genuine fear and making the familiar feel unsafe and will have even the bravest of viewers checking over their shoulders for those eight-legged critters.
