If you haven’t guessed yet, we’re talking about 1994’s cult classic The Crow, starring the late Brandon Lee. Alex Proyas’ adaptation of James O’Barr’s comic series has been steadily growing its fan base for more than three decades, blending the action of comic blockbusters with the colors and chills of the Halloween season. Now, starting this month, The Crow has gotten easier to stream, thanks to Paramount+.
The Crow was added back to the Paramount+ lineup on September 1st, returning it to the streaming service that it most often calls home.
The Crow Is Perfect for Halloween
While The Crow isn’t necessarily a horror movie, there are a ton of things that make it a great viewing option for the Halloween season. First and foremost, the film straight up takes place on Halloween night. On top of that, the gothic settings and grungy ’90s costuming makes it feel like a legitimate Halloween experience.
Then there’s the look of the titular antihero himself. Eric Draven’s resurrected alter ego is as Halloween as you can get, with his painted face and black leather. The actual crow that hangs around him is a nice touch as well.
Every ounce of The Crow, from the production design to the music, feels like strolling down an empty road on a chilly October night. There are honestly very few films more Halloween than this one.
