The Batman: Part II is currently scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2027, with Matt Reeves returning as director, and Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell expected to reprise their roles. The Batman pitted Bruce Wayne against the Riddler (Paul Dano), who targeted Gotham City’s wealthy and corrupt elite, while The Penguin spinoff series saw Oz Cobb go toe-to-toe with the Falcone crime family in a battle of Gotham’s villains. Unfortunately, The Batman: Part II will be missing one of the best aspects of the Batman Epic Crime Saga’s first TV series.
Sofia Falcone Won’t Be in The Batman: Part II

Cristin Milioti just earned an Emmy for her performance as Sofia Falcone in The Penguin, a role which earned her a huge amount of praise and recognition. Sofia was the daughter of Carmine Falcone (John Turturro in The Batman and Mark Strong in The Penguin) and a presumed psychopathic serial killer who took over the Falcone crime family and transformed it into the Gigante crime family – her mother’s maiden name – following her father’s death. Sofia became a terrifying villain in The Penguin, but she unfortunately won’t be returning in The Batman: Part II, as Matt Reeves has confirmed to MTV.
Reeves notes that Cristin Milioti will be missing out on The Batman: Part II because work on the sequel’s script was already so far gone when The Penguin was released on HBO Max. It seems nobody expected Milioti’s Sofia Falcone to become such a major hit, which means she was left out of early drafts of The Batman: Part II, and subsequently won’t be appearing in the project at all. While this is disappointing, Reeves does state that “it’d be really exciting to do something with her,” so there’s still a chance for Sofia Gigante to return after The Penguin.
The Penguin Probably Won’t Be the End For Sofia Falcone

The Penguin explored Sofia Gigante’s rise to power in Gotham City after being released from Arkham Asylum. She uncovered the truth of her false imprisonment, but also showed off the psychopathic tendencies that she learned while incarcerated, and truly became the villain of Gotham – though Oz Cobb’s influence and manipulative tactics even bested her. In The Penguin’s finale, Oz and Vic’s (Rhenzy Feliz) plan ends with Sofia being taken back to Arkham, seemingly ending her story, but one final tease hinted at her return in future projects in the Batman Epic Crime Saga.
