5. Luke Skywalker — Force Projection

In a last-ditch effort to save the Resistance from the First Order on Crait, an aging and reclusive Luke Skywalker used the Force in a way never before seen in the Skywalker Saga. From his self-imposed exile on Ahch-To, he projected a lifelike image of himself across the galaxy to Crait. This projection was so convincing that it was visible to others, could interact with the physical environment, and even duel with Kylo Ren.

However, the strain of this singular act took a fatal toll on Luke, as he had to channel his entire being through the Force to create an illusion so perfect that it would fool his nephew. The sheer power and focus required for Force Projection is a testament to a Jedi’s true strength of connection to the Force. By sacrificing himself in this way, he not only saved his friends and sister, but also ensured that the legend of Luke Skywalker would live on with a final epic act.

4. Cal Kestis — Force Stasis

Cal Kestis has a unique ability that allows him to temporarily freeze enemies and objects in place. This power, known as Force Stasis, is an advanced form of telekinesis that requires a Jedi to have near-perfect control and concentration. He can use this ability to stop incoming blaster bolts or to freeze multiple enemies at once. After his mortal form was killed by Darth Maul on Naboo in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, he was able to merge with the Force and return as the very first Force ghost. At first, he only appeared as a disembodied voice to guide his former apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, from beyond the grave. However, the closing moments of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi revealed Qui-Gon’s spectral form for the first time.

The ability to live on through the Force on the physical plane was previously considered impossible by the Jedi Council, as they believed that the only way to become one with the Force was to surrender to its will completely. However, Qui-Gon’s mastery of the Living Force was the key that allowed him to retain his individual identity. He later passed on this knowledge to Yoda and Obi-Wan, allowing them to also manifest as Force ghost after their deaths.

2. Avar Kriss — Song of the Force

As a Jedi Master during the High Republic era, Avar Kriss was known for her exceptional and rare ability to hear the “Song of the Force.” This power, also known as “sabersong” allowed her to sense the Force’s intricate connections among all living things, seeing them as a complex symphony. She could use this unique sight to pinpoint a specific person’s location or, on a larger level, create a harmonic Force bond between multiple Jedi in their minds.

This unique ability made Avar Kriss unparalleled in battle, as she could hear the Force’s musical notes to warn her of danger and to guide her allies to work together in perfect harmony. With her symphonic view of the Force, she could also people who were out of tune with the Force, such as dark-side users or people with ill intent. This power, similar to the real life medical phenomenom, synesthesia, was entirely unique to Avar Kriss in all of Star Wars lore.

1. Quinlan Vos — Force Psychometry

Quinlan Vos’s signature power, psychometry, allowed him to see one’s memories and emotions from the past simply by touching an object related to the person or the individual themselves. This ability, a unique and rare form of Force-sight, made him an expert tracker and investigator for the Jedi Order. He could hold a lightsaber and see the memories of its previous owner, or touch a crime scene and relive the events that had occurred there.

This power was not always a blessing, as Quinlan (and Cal Kestis, who also has psychometry) often had to bear the emotional and psychological weight of the memories, some of which were tragic. While most Jedi could feel a person’s emotions in the present, Quinlan could feel a person’s emotions as they were in the past.
