Upon his arrival, it becomes clear that the villagers are hiding a secret, and Kipps soon discovers his late client’s house is haunted by the spirit of a vengeful woman who terrorizes the locals. Ciarán Hinds, Janet McTeer, Sophie Stuckey, and Liz White also star.
Why You Should Watch The Woman in Black
The Woman in Black was a solid post-Harry Potter movie for Radcliffe and helped showcase his versatility as an actor. Marking a stark departure from Harry Potter, Radcliffe’s portrayal of the grief-stricken Arthur Kipps was a strong re-introduction that proved the actor could take on more mature, emotionally subdued, and nuanced roles and command the screen without an ensemble cast behind him. Radcliffe would ultimately go on to show off his horror acting chops once more in Horns (2013) and Victor Frankenstein (2015).
