Given that Brand New Day writers Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna have over sixty years of Spider-Man comic history to pull from, there are several great options that a talent like Sadie Sink could be taking on.
7) Carlie Cooper

Cooper may be a lesser-known character in the greater Marvel Comics universe, but Sink resembles her, and Cooper does appear in the Brand New Day Spider-Man run. Her job with the NYPD also fits nicely into the alleged street-level story that director Daniel Destin Cretton is striving for the webslinger’s next solo movie installment. Cooper’s character presents a lot of dramatic opportunity, seeing as she’s both a love interest of Peter’s and, after forced exposure to Goblin formula, an antagonist too, under the moniker Monster.
6) Julia Carpenter

Though this may be a less likely candidate for Sink’s secret role, as Carpenter appeared in the Sony bomb Madame Web, there’s still a chance that she’ll be the first Spider-Woman we meet in the live-action MCU. Carpenter has a long and storied history in comics since her debut in the ’80s, and in addition to holding the title of Madame Web and under the codename Arachne, she aids Ms. Marvel in training young superheroes. Her presence could be a tie-in to the post-credit scene in The Marvels, where Kamala Khan tells Kate Bishop/Hawkeye that she’s building a Young Avengers team. With Peter’s identity erased from everyone’s memory at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sink as Carpenter could provide an essential link for Peter back to a super-team.
5) Firestar (Angelica Jones)

A mutant with a range of fire-related powers, Firestar has a ton of potential not just in Brand New Day but in the greater MCU. Firestar, or Angelica Jones, has been a love interest of Peter’s in the past and could serve as a powerful ally, especially since another Brand New Day rumor speculates that Spidey may be up against multiple villains this time around. With Jones being both a member of the X-Men and the Avengers, and Sink’s status as a star on the rise, having her play Firestar makes a lot of sense. Her character could be integral in bringing in the X-Men formally into the MCU.
