The $1 Xbox game in question is called Levelhead, a 2020 release from Butterscotch Shenanigans. The five-year-old platformer was notably the sophomore release from the studio, following its first game, Crashlands, back in 2016. Meanwhile, since 2020, it has shipped one more game, Crashlands 2, which hit earlier this year, back in April. And it was a great second release for the studio based on the game’s user reviews. To this end, it has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” user rating, the highest rating a game can earn on Steam. It has this rating thanks to a 96% approval rating after 806 user reviews.
About the Game
In Levelhead, you play as a GR-18 delivery robot for The Bureau of Shipping, the galaxy’s premier package delivery corporation. The platformer that puts a focus on intense power-ups has a full campaign, but it also has a level editor and a user-generated system. And this is what makes the game unique from most other platformers in the space. If you are looking for a pure platformer, Levelhead may not tickle your fancy, as there are better examples of this, but if you are looking for a platformer with a level editor, well, there aren’t many of those, and this happens to be a good example of this very specific type of game.
