One of the Last Big PS4 Games Just Leaked

The game in question, subject to a new report, is Resident Evil Requiem, which is set to release on February 27, 2026. Now, the last mainline installment in the series, Resident Evil Village, and the latest major release from the series, Resident Evil 4, both came to PS4, so perhaps this news should not be that surprising. That said, these two games came in 2021 and 2023, when the PS4 was supported a lot more heavily, especially in the case of the former. To this end, the majority of major releases next year have not been penciled in for a PS4 release. To be fair, neither has Capcom with Resident Evil Requiem, but a new report claims that is the plan.

More Than One Unannounced Platform

The new report comes the way of Dusk Golem, a well-known and fairly reliable industry insider primarily known for scoops and information on Capcom games, and especially Resident Evil games. According to the insider, Resident Evil Requiem isn’t just coming to PS4, in addition to the already announced platforms, but Nintendo Switch as well.

As the leaker hints at, both Capcom and Resident Evil are known for supporting older machines well beyond most publishers and game series, so this would just be continuing this tradition. And considering there are still millions of monthly users on PS4, it makes sense to give these users a new game to buy if it’s not going to limit and impact development too much.

All of that said, remember to take everything here with a grain of salt. If true, it’s just the latest great news in what has been a few weeks of great news for PS4 users.
