Over the years, Stardew Valley has received its fair share of free updates. Most recently, the truly massive 1.6 update added a ton of new content to the farming sim for the price of $0. After that update finally hit consoles, developer Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe, announced he would be turning his attention to his new game, Haunted Chocolatier. At that time, he shared that he wasn’t sure if another big update was in Stardew Valley’s future. But that appears to have changed.
On August 30th, Barone posted to X to announce that the next wing of the Stardew Valley concert tour was about to begin. Little did fans know that post might just have been a teaser for even bigger news. A TikTok video has begun circulating that appears to show Barone on stage before the Symphony of Seasons concert. And though it’s a bit hard to make out, it sounds like he just confirmed we’re getting another update for Stardew Valley.
Stardew Valley Updates Aren’t Done Yet
Since it was initially posted on TikTok, the video from user @jillbobagginz has gained steam with cozy gamers. On stage before the Symphony of Seasons concert began, Barone came out to say a few words. And if this video is what we think it is, some of those words include confirmation of another update after Stardew Valley 1.6.
In the recording, Barone appears to announce that there will be another update for Stardew Valley. Given his previous comments that he wasn’t sure we’d be getting more free content, this is pretty big news. And the crowd reaction heard in the video confirms it. Fans are hungry for more new Stardew content, and it sounds like Barone is planning to give it to us.
“I wanted to share this here with you tonight. It’s kind of a secret,” Barone says in the video, before dropping the big news. “There’s gonna be another update.” Naturally, fans attending the concert in person couldn’t keep that secret to themselves, as it’s pretty big news for cozy gamers.
