New Halo Announcement Coming in October (And Fans Are Expecting 1 Thing)

Videos by ComicBook.com

As a result, the Halo series has taken a bit of a beating over the years and fans aren’t sure what to expect from the future. Last year, it was confirmed that 343 was rebranding as Halo Studios and beginning work on a new Halo title in Unreal Engine 5, moving away from the studio’s internal engine. This will make the development process more streamlined and also allow the studio an easier time bringing on new, outside employees, as they won’t have to teach them a totally new workflow. It is heavily rumored that the studio is working on a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, potentially releasing next year for the 25th anniversary of the franchise, but the team has remained tight-lipped.

Halo Studios Teases New Announcement for Next Month

However, it looks like we’re going to get a new look at what comes next in October. During the Halo World Championship on October 24th in the afternoon, Halo Studios will provide a new look at whatever it is they’re working on and provide new details as part of a presentation and panel. That doesn’t explicitly mean it will be a brand new Halo game or even a remake, but fans are reading between the lines and deducing that as the case. Of course, temper expectations just in case, but it does seem like that’s what is being built up to.

Last year, we got a small tease of Halo running in Unreal Engine 5 and it looked like Halo: Combat Evolved. No title or details were really given, but whatever it was, it looked gorgeous. Hopefully, this time, Halo Studios will give us a better idea of what’s on the horizon by putting a title on this thing and setting expectations. It is also heavily rumored that some kind of Halo game is coming to PS5, so it’s possible whatever they show could be related to that. Either way, exciting things are happening in the world of Halo.
