In 2023, Insomniac Games was hacked and unfinished gameplay for Marvel’s Wolverine leaked online in addition to story and casting details about the game. Not only that, but a playable build found its way online as well. This was obviously extremely compromising and damaging for Insomniac which led to speculation that the studio may need to rework the game in order to keep it fresh for audiences. Marvel’s Wolverine Reveals First Gameplay
Rumors began to swirl recently that Marvel’s Wolverine would get a new trailer at a State of Play at the end of September and it actually happened. Marvel’s Wolverine got a brand new trailer at PlayStation’s latest State of Play revealing new details about the story, our first actual good look at Wolverine himself, and the action that will drive the game itself. Marvel’s Wolverine will see Logan searching for answers about his past, leading him to come across a number of iconic Marvel characters including Mystique. It looks like it will be an action-packed and violent adventure filled with big cinematic set pieces. We see glimpses of Wolverine using his claws to slide down tall buildings, using his motorcycle to chase down a target, and then jumping from the bike into traffic.
Ultimately, it looks like Insomniac Games is cooking up something great. The developer teased that we will see more from the game in spring 2026 ahead of Marvel’s Wolverine‘s eventual fall 2026 release. It’s good to see that Wolverine is shaping up so nicely and hopefully, this will give fans something that’s worth the wait next holiday season.
