The first multiplayer trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has dropped, giving fans a good idea of what to expect. Black Ops 6 introduced a bunch of innovations to the franchise with the omnimovement system, a Max Payne-esque mechanic that lets players have full control over their character with 360 degrees of movement. It’s much more fluid and it seems like it will be a mainstay going forward, at least for the Black Ops series as we see it working in conjunction with a new wall-jump mechanic in Black Ops 7.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Reveals New Multiplayer Trailer
The new trailer highlights the near-future aesthetic and weaponry of Black Ops 7 along with the maps, scorestreaks, and mechanics of the game. Although some fans feared that wall-running was returning to Black Ops 7, players will only be able to bounce off the wall rather than run across it. It can be used to cross gaps on the ground or give yourself a boost up to a second floor. We also see improvements to the meat shield mechanic from Black Ops 6 as you can now stick a grenade to your enemy and kick them towards others.
The trailer also gives us a good taste of the Black Ops 2 content in the game which includes fan-favorite maps like Raid and Express as well as guns like the Peacemaker. Of course, it remains to be seen if this will entice players. Call of Duty is an interesting place right now, but it is leading to the developers trying to address major feedback Call of Duty fans have with regards to skins and more. I recently saw Black Ops 7 in action at Treyarch and left feeling a bit mixed on the game, but it’s possible that the beta and whatever is shown at COD Next on September 30th will revitalize my hype.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will release on November 14th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC. What do you think? Leave a comment below and join the conversation now in theย ComicBook Forum!
