This version of the team has the potential to become the definitive lineup for a new generation of readers.
Some Super Changes

Joining the ranks of the Six for this round, we have Dreamer, Jon Kent, and his boyfriend Jay, aka Gossamer. Rounding out the team are returning members Deadshot, Catman, and Black Alice. With Dreamer being the leader of this new lineup, the game was set and started with a bang. Catman’s return here marked a new direction for his character, putting him at odds with Deadshot and the team as a whole, which added a layer of distrust to this team. With half the team being heroic versus not as such makes for great drama. Add in that Black Alice stirs the pot any chance she gets, just for her own enjoyment, adds some humor to the book. Most importantly Maines takes Jay and made him a character with a lot of distrust in Dreamer and that lead him at odd with her and even Jon Kent.
It’s safe to say the past few years Amanda Waller’s character arc has been insane. She went full on villains and there’s no going back. That’s why its great to see the Six back but to also defy Waller completely. The ramifications of her actions since Absolute Power flipped a lot of her relationships against her. It’s led to great character work and shows that the characters know on a meta level that they were screwed over. Deadshot was once her top dog and now he wants her guts after the event. It’s great to see Deadshot think for himself for once and go along with the rest of the team as a member instead of a pawn.
