Fullmetal Alchemist’s Creator Has a New Anime Coming Next Year (And You Can Watch the Trailer Now)

Daemons of the Shadow Realm is set in a world where humans have the ability to control beings known as Daemons, a pair of twins is unknowingly thrown into the center of a wild new conflict than they ever could have predicted. Making its debut next year, the anime shared a new trailer highlighting its central cast of characters as part of the Aniplex Online Fest 2025 event that took place over the weekend. What to Know for Fullmetal Alchemist’s Creator’s New Anime

Daemons of the Shadow Realm will be making its debut sometime in 2026, but has yet to confirm a more concrete release date or window as of this time. But it has been announced that Crunchyroll has officially licensed the series for its international streaming release when it hits, and will be at least offering an English subtitled version (as a potential English dub has yet to be announced at this time). And with this new look, the core cast of characters has been confirmed as well with Kensho Ono as Yuru, Yume Miyamoto as Asa, Yuichi Nakamura as Dera, and Misaki Kuno as Gabu-chan.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm will be directed by Masahiro Ando for Bones Film (the studio behind hits like My Hero Academia and Gachiakuta). Noburu Takagi will be providing the scripts for the anime with Nobuhiro Arai handling the character designs, and Kenichiro Suehiro will be composing the music. Hiromu Arakawa first released the manga with Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine back in 2021, and it has been a huge success ever since. Even more so now that a new anime adaptation is driving even more potential new fans to it.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm has sparked a huge fandom with just the manga itself as fans have been flocking to Hiromu Arakawa’s newest world. Fullmetal Alchemist was held in as high of a regard as it was because of the creator’s attention to detail when it comes to the fleshing out the wider world of alchemy and the characters within it, and that has been the case with this newest series as well. There’s a mysterious world surrounding these Daemons, and fans have a lot coming their way with this new anime.

It’s already lining up as one of the big franchises fans can look forward to seeing in action next year, and with this creative team behind its adaptation it’s likely going to find just as much success that Fullmetal Alchemist once enjoyed.
