Johnny Yong Bosch is no stranger to the anime world, voicing major characters such as Trigun’s Vash the Stampede, Bleach’s Ichigo Kurosaki, Devil May Cry’s Dante, and Dragon Ball Super’s Broly, to name a few. With so many roles under his belt, this fact doesn’t mean that Johnny doesn’t miss his characters when he says goodbye to them, which is the case with Demon Slayer’s Giyu, “I mean, I’ve been waiting for this film at least for Giyu to get to this moment for a long time, so, you know, being here now, it’s like, oh, it’s awesome, but then knowing that, oh gosh, we’re at the end now. My daughter ended up getting the manga. Well, she got it after I saw a spoiler. So, I was just researching the character and just trying to figure out, alright, what’s he about, you know, and then I saw some stuff, and then ended up getting her the manga set, and then kind of going through it.”
On the flip side, Zach Aguilar, voice of Demon Slayer’s star Tanjiro, was sad to bid a fond farewell to the shonen series. “I mean, I think being a fan of the story and the manga in general, it’s been awesome to see it all adapted, and I think the word, for me, is bittersweet.”
