As well as the endless wave of promos for Infinity Castle, studio Ufotable also releases new birthday illustrations for Demon Slayer‘s characters, and Zenitsu is the latest to be celebrated. Released on the official Demon Slayer website, the artwork features a chibi illustration of Zenitsu Agatsuma, posing in front of a mountain of flowers. Their outfit is inspired by their hair color and use of thunder breathing, with similarly orange, yellow, and white flowers adorned behind them.
Can Zenitsu Be Redeemed in Infinity Castle?

The upcoming Infinity Castle movie is the beginning of the end for the Demon Slayer franchise. The film is the first in a new trilogy that will bring Ufotable’s anime adaptation to a close. Infinity Castle already premiered in Japan back in July, but US fans have had to wait until September to experience the movie. As well as featuring some phenomenally animated battles, fans are hoping that the first Infinity Castle movie will finally redeem Zenitsu, who is often considered to be the most annoying character in the franchise.
When Zenitsu locks in, he’s an incredibly strong ally for Tanjiro to have at his side. But the other 99% of the time, he whines and complains and is terrified of the demons he has been trained to fight. His cowardly attitude started as comic relief, but since he hasn’t been given any sort of character arc that allows him to grow past this, the trait has remained, and it has slowly grated on viewers.
As well as the birthday illustration, a new poster for Infinity Castle has been released, depicting Zenitsu in the heat of battle against Upper Rank Six demon, Kaigaku. Fans will immediately notice that Zenitsu’s eyes are open in the poster (he can famously only fight well when he’s asleep), so there’s a chance that Zenitsu may finally overcome his fear in the movie.
