Crunchyroll’s Big New Movie Just Won the Battle of the Popcorn Buckets

Ahead of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc‘s theatrical release in Japan on September 19th, the official pocporn bucket for the film has been revealed… and it’s perfect. Distributed by the theater chain, T-Joy, the bucket lets fans literally take Denji home with them after the film. Styled after Denji’s Chainsaw Man head, the giant orange popcorn bucket has a chainsaw sticking out, and comes with an articulating jaw where the popcorn is stored. What’s even more shocking than the incredible design is the price. The popcorn bucket will retail for 3,900 yen (around $26). At the time of writing, the popcorn bucket is only available in Japan. However, it may also be released in the US when the film hits domestic shores on October 24th.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle will most likely win the battle of the box office. But Chainsaw Man has undoubtedly won the battle of the popcorn buckets. 2024 saw several live-action movies go head-to-head, attempting to one-up the previous film with a more impressive popcorn bucket. But 2025 sees anime jumping on board the trend, and Chainsaw Man is the unanimous victor (after all, who doesn’t want to eat popcorn out of a sentient chainsaw?).

Just last week, AMC theaters unveiled the official popcorn buckets and drink holders for Infinity Castle. The cups are impressive, as they’re styled on the characters’ katanas. But the actual bucket has been seen as a letdown by fans. Although even compared with the Japanese popcorn buckets for Infinity Castle, which include a rotatable cylinder that depicts scenes from the franchise, Chainsaw Man‘s Denji popcorn bucket is still the victor. US fans are now hoping that the bucket will be available domestically this October.
