Each kingdom receives its own arc, strategically placed to elevate Asta and the other Clover Kingdom characters as they overcome hurdles and grow stronger. While every kingdom is unique and has contributed something distinctive to the story, the power structure remains clear. Here is how each kingdom is ranked by power.

4) Diamond Kingdom

The Diamond Kingdom in Black Clover, located north of the Clover Kingdom, is the first to be revealed to fans through its attempts to invade the Clover Kingdom. At the time of its introduction, the kingdom’s main power stemmed from the Magic Scholar Moris Libardirt, who engineered Magic Knights using magic stones to create his secret puppet and take control of the kingdom. It was also revealed that the Diamond Kingdom suffered from a lack of resources, which led its Magic Knights to frequently invade other nations in search of supplies.

The strongest warrior introduced was Mars, who led the Eight Shining Generals, the most powerful warriors of the Diamond Kingdom, though they were eventually defeated by the Black Bulls and the witches of the Witches’ Forest. The Diamond Kingdom has consistently been depicted as the weakest of the four powers as time passed for Black Clover, with the Spade Kingdom’s Zenon Zogratis single-handedly defeating its military, a testament to its low standing. However, with the Diamond Kingdom rising once again, it seems they may be stronger than before.

3) Heart Kingdom

Following the introduction of the Diamond Kingdom, the Heart Kingdom is the next to be revealed. Among the four kingdoms, the Heart Kingdom is shown to be the most resourceful, especially in terms of mana. Its abundance of mana is its greatest strength, which also aided the Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom in becoming stronger. Additionally, the kingdom is home to Undine, the Water Spirit, one of the elemental spirits in Black Clover, who is directly connected to the kingdom’s queen.

The Heart Kingdom’s primary role was to train the main characters, leading to a confrontation against Vanica Zogratis of the Spade Kingdom, where the other three kingdoms united to stop the invasion. With its vast resources and abundance of mana, the Heart Kingdom stands as one of the most powerful realms with deep potential. In theory, it could even surpass the Clover Kingdom, though the Clover Kingdom’s newest generation has been able to grow and consolidate its power the most.

2) Spade Kingdom

Out of the four kingdoms, the Spade Kingdom covers the largest area, which is a testimony to their appetite for conquest, and the strength that their military possesses. Located in the far west, the Spade Kingdom is a wintry region, which might suggest a lack of resources due to the harsh climate. However, the Dark Triad, the Zogratis siblings, harboring the power of devils, established the Spade Kingdom as one of the most formidable realms.

It took the united effort of the other three kingdoms to stop a small invasion led by Vanica when Asta and the Black Bulls were training in the Heart Kingdom. Furthermore, Zenon Zogratis single-handedly defeated the Diamond Kingdom, once again proving the kingdom’s unmatched strength. The dominance of the Spade Kingdom was largely due to the Zogratis siblings, and after their defeat, the power balance shifted significantly. Even so, it remains the second-strongest kingdom, with the potential to become the strongest, given the possibility of the siblings returning without their devil powers and Yuno potentially ascending as its king.

1) Clover Kingdom

There is no doubt that the Clover Kingdom is now the strongest among the four, even though it was initially weaker than both the Spade and Heart Kingdoms. The Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom have always been at the center of the story, with Asta leading the charge in overcoming the challenges posed by the other kingdoms. The kingdom’s power is highly diverse, with Asta and Yuno alone standing stronger than the entire military forces of the Heart and Diamond Kingdoms.

Adding to this, Yami Sukehiro, hailing from the Land of the Sun, brings a unique power scale that elevates the kingdom to an even greater level. Even in the current final war against Lucius Zogratis, the main antagonist of Black Clover, it is the Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom who are taking the lead in battle. Thus, the Clover Kingdom is undeniably the most powerful of the four, as the entire narrative of Black Clover is structured to elevate it, with Asta and Yuno emerging as the kingdom’s most powerful forces.
